The Circuit Breakers 2011-2012
Michael...Team Captain
Michael says...
My name is Michael. I think I am fit for the job because I perservere to the end. I am good at handling the expectations of teamwork. I am an awesome programmer in my eyes. In my opinion, I am not lazy. I don't care if I lose. I am mainly there for the fun of it. I don't think I put people down and if I do I don't mean it. I love to have a little competition but friendly competition.
Michael's coaches say...
He voluntarily gave up his mornings and afternoons to work on the robot table missions! He stood out as one of the most comfortable and articulate team members when it came to answering questions posed by the judges.
Travis...Team Co-Captain
Travis says...I am Travis. I can be very shy. I am usually quiet. Also, I love to play baseball. I wanted to be a part of the Circuit Breakers because I was in the robotics club last year. This year, I want to expand my learning experience of technology.
Travis' coaches say...Brought the team together – For example: Desiree was up against another team on the robot match and she was CLEARLY very nervous. Travis helped to calm her nerves by telling her, “Don’t worry. Just pretend like you are doing a practice run in the tech lab.” Not only did she do better than her opposing team, but her score made the top 3 in the entire competition!”
Anthony...
Anthony says...My name is Anthony. I am happy to participate in the Circuit Breakers because I love to build and work with computers. Working with robots and using them in competitions may be a once in a lifetime activity. I am very excited to begin my robotics class. I am looking foward to working with my robotics team and learning more about robotics.
Anthony's coaches say... The team's articulate and tech savvy member- He created beautiful illustrations for the team's project solution.
Desiree...
Desiree says...My name is Desiree. I am 10 and I am in the 5th grade. I love music. I am better than building than programming. I wanted to be a part of the FLL Circuit Breakers team because I love to build things and sometimes program them. I also like to see them go!
Desiree's coaches say...The MOST FOCUSED team member. If you wanted it done you could count on Desiree. She always chose to get the job done before playing!
Esha...
Esha says...My name is Esha. Most people at Bear lake know me as "Mrs. Singh's daughter". I am in the 5th grade and I am an intelligent girl. I want to do robotics again because it is very interesting and I have fun with it. It also gives me a chance to see my friends.
Esha's coaches say... She started out as the "shy" one on the team but has blossomed into a different, more outspoken person by the end of the season.
Kristofer...
Kristofer says....Hi, my name is Kristofer. I like to read and my favorite genre is fantasy. It is hard to decide what my favorite book series is but some of the best are the Hunger Games, Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. I am a defender on my soccer team. My family and I travel a lot and we have been to some interesting places like Sweden, Germany, Alaska, Denmark, and Canada, to name a few. My favorite thing about Sweden is it is not as hot as Florida during the summer and we eat more glas and godis (ice cream and candy) when we are there. I own lots of Legos. I build with my brother. I think the Circuit Breakers team will be enjoyable this year.
Kristofer's coaches say...Kristofer embodied gracious professionalism-the program’s primary philosophy. Kristofer brought the kids who were shy too to talk out of their shell. When asked a question by a judge he would turn to one of his teammates that he felt needed a chance to speak and say (“What do you think, Esha?” Or “I think Adam can answer that question.”)
Adam...
Adam Says...I am Adam. I am very good at technology. I like to build things and see how things are made. I am also very creative. I am dedicated to finishing what I started. I wanted to join the Circuit Breakers team because I enjoy anything with technology.
Adam's coaches say... The team's programming guru- He learned the NXT programming language (the language the makes the robot do what you want it to do) very quickly and easily. Amazing!

Bobby...
Bobby says...Hi, my name is Bobby and I am a 5th grader at Bear Lake Elementary. I like to play outdoors, (especially baseball) I love to read, (especially Harry Potter) and I love all things computers. This past summer I built a robot named Max and it can talk, move around and do songs. I want to be a Circuit Breaker because I think robots are fascinating and I just like to work on the computer. One day, I would like to make a robotic pooper-scooper so I don't have to change my cat's litter box every day!
Bobby's Coaches say... We couldn't help but secretly call him "Bob the Builder!" A natural when it came to building. He did an awesome job building the robot bumper and wall hugger attachments for the robot.
